The launch of the revised My Skills, My Future (MSMF) pack took place today (19 January 2017) at the first workshop to use the updated resource.
The pack is aimed primarily at young people who are about to leave school or have left school with few or no formal qualifications but can also be used with older individuals such as those who have been made redundant or adult returners.
Since its original launch, more than 300 advisers and practitioners from a variety of backgrounds, including CLD, third sector and SDS, have been trained to use the MSMF pack with their clients. We also developed a Train the Trainer workshop so that advisers could share their learning with colleagues.
In 2015/16 research was undertaken to establish how well the resource was working with individuals. A working group was set up to undertake a review of the pack and it has now been re-designed. The improved and professionally designed resources are less complex, more effective and are easier to follow. Members of the working group were invited along to today’s event to be presented with a copy of the updated pack and joined workshop delegates for lunch.
Bookings for the next workshop on 22 February are now being taken. Additional workshops will take place throughout 2017, so please keep an eye on the website for future dates to be announced.
