Building on past successes, the Erasmus+ National Agency in the UK will host an Erasmus+ Transnational Cooperation Activity taking the form of a TWO-DAY PEER LEARNING EVENT which will be held in Birmingham-UK on 25-26 July 2017.
The UK National Agency together with the UK’s team of ECVET Experts invites you to join an education and training Transnational Cooperation Activity entitled Pathways to Enhanced Assessment and Recognition for those achieving Learning beyond national borders (PEARL).
PEARL has been positively received, with 27 National Agencies having reserved spaces for their delegates. With 50 confirmed international delegates we are looking for high level practitioners from the UK to input the national perspective and to both share their own experiences and learn from others.
During the two day event being held in Birmingham delegates will have opportunities to participate in workshops and plenary sessions, exploring how European transparency and recognition tools can be best employed in the future. Taking into account recent European policy developments, national perspectives, operational successes and potential barriers to the continuing and wider use of all such tools and instruments.
2016 was the most popular year so far for Erasmus+ in the UK. The UK National Agency expects even greater take-up in 2017 due to its higher budget.
Key Action 1 mobility projects account for around 75% of the UK’s Erasmus+ budget and thus support excellent mobility opportunities for individuals to study, train or volunteer abroad.
Countries around Europe are increasingly emphasising the need to take account of the full range of an individual’s knowledge, skills and competences – not only those acquired at schools, universities or other formal education and training institutions.
Recognising all forms of learning is therefore a priority in education and training. As a result countries have been developing protocols, utilising tools and instruments and overcoming barriers to support the validation, recognition and transfer of learning achieved during a period of mobility.
PEARL will provide an opportunity to continue to benefit from transnational collaboration, sharing knowledge and expertise on this important topic area.
