What is your role within the SCQFP?

I am the Lead for Quality Assurance within the Assure and Innovate team. I will be working towards upholding the reputation of our National Qualifications Framework and Register of Qualifications through the implementation of rigorous quality assurance measures.

What do you look forward to achieving in your role?

I look forward to working closely with Credit Rating Bodies, employers and colleagues to enhance, support and promote credit rating activity across Scotland. This will help to ensure that quality education is more widely accessible and recognised for learners.

Career so far?

After undertaking a Business Management Degree, I began working at Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) in 2021 as a Quality Assurance Logistics Officer.

My role involved organising verification activity for Higher National and Vocational Qualifications undertaken in colleges and training providers and determining the robustness of their quality assurance procedures against SQA standards. While there, I also collaborated with qualification development teams, awarding bodies, training providers and learners, who I look forward to supporting throughout my role at SCQF Partnership.

 

 

Glossary Term

Authority

Appears at Level 12 only where it is used in the phrase ‘demonstrate substantial authority’, reflecting a recognised high level and depth of expertise/expert knowledge and understanding, along with confidence. It does not mean ‘exercise authority over staff and resources’ etc, as that could clearly apply at earlier levels.
