My Learning Journey - Christie's Story
Christie was brought up in care from the age of 5, he spent 12 years in prison where he went on to become a heroin addict. With support from WEA (Workers' Educational Association), Christie has positively turned his life around. Working his way up the framework to SCQF Level 7, he now works as a Peer Mentor for the charity Cyrenians.
My Learner Journey - Rowan's Story
Hermitage Academy is a school, based where the Firth of Clyde meets the Gareloch. Due to the proximity to the Naval Base at Faslane it made sense for the school to offer Maritime Skills as an option for young people. Rowan is currently undertaking the course at Argyll College UHI, MaritimeSkills sits at SCQF Level 5.
My Learning Journey - Brian's Story
Brian left school with 5 Highers (at SCQF Level 6) and went straight to University leaving his Electronic Engineering course after a year. He moved on to build a career in the financial industry but found not having a degree a serious hurdle even with his professional experience. He used RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) to gain entry into second year of University.
School Ambassador Case Study - Clydebank High School
In 2015/16 the SCQF Partnership launched its School Ambassador Programme with the aim of identifying and confirming SCQF Ambassadors in schools to raise awareness and understanding of the SCQF as well as promoting its use among learners, school staff and parents.
