Brian left school with five Highers at SCQF Level 6 and went straight to university. He left his Electronic Engineering course after a year and moved on to build a career in the financial industry. However, he found not having a degree a serious hurdle, even with his professional experience. He used Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to gain entry into the second year of university.
