The SCQF Partnership has recruited the 150th school into its School Ambassador Programme – Kelso High School.
The SCQF School Ambassador programme offers secondary schools the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of the SCQF and the wider ways in which it supports learners. These include recognising wider achievement, developing senior phase learning pathways and demonstrating equality between vocational and academic qualifications.
The milestone was celebrated at the Scottish Borders Council school by pupils and teachers alike who are delighted to have been recognised for their participation in the programme.
Jill Lothian, Head Teacher at Kelso High said: “We are delighted to join the SCQF School Ambassador Programme and look forward to exploring the SCQF further and raising awareness with pupils, parents and staff.”
Donnie Wood, the SCQFP Development Officer who manages the programme, added: “Well done to Kelso High School on becoming the 150th school to become involved in the programme! It’s really exciting to see more and more schools up and down the country getting involved and starting a similar journey to Kelso HS. By providing resources and support for staff, the Ambassador programme aims to raise awareness of the SCQF, how it can be used to develop learner pathways and promote the value and parity of all qualifications that sit on the SCQF.”
The SCQF School Ambassador Programme is free to join and is open to any secondary school in Scotland.
