Meet Bev, Senior Administrative Officer
Tell us a bit about your career to date
I’ve been working in administration for 15 years, having undergone a career change from Retail Management. The majority of my career was spent at Glasgow Caledonian University where I worked as an Administrator for the Global Recruitment Office. As well as providing administrative support to the team and managing the day to day running of the office, I was also heavily involved with the planning and implementation of a new CRM system.
Previous to this I worked as a Marketing Assistant/Administrator at a publishing/events company in Glasgow where I learned all about databases and CRM systems. Before this I was lucky enough to live in the seaside town of Brighton where I worked in the Marketing Department of the local newspaper.
What is your role within the SCQFP?
As Senior Administrative Officer my role is an office management role, ensuring the office runs smoothly, undertaking secretariat duties and providing administrative support to the whole team.
I manage our Modern Apprentice and together we help support events and workshop and ensure our staff and stakeholders have all the tools and materials they need. My first big project since starting my position is to develop our CRM system.
Tell us something interesting about yourself?
I once met David Attenborough in a tiny airport in Nairobi, Kenya. He was on his way out to the Masai Mara to film a new BBC Documentary. I was so in awe I couldn’t speak but thankfully my husband struck up a conversation. Needless to say he was lovely.
