Meet Maureen - Administrator

Tell us a bit about your career to date

I have over 20 years’ experience working in administration and customer care across public, private and third sector companies.  In a previous role, it would not be unusual to see me in a Hi-Vis yellow vest and hard hat while visiting clients on-site but most recently I was with Glasgow City Council Early Years finance team supporting both local authority and private nursery.

What is your role within the SCQFP?

I joined the SCQF Partnership three months ago as an Administrator.  My role is to provide administrative support across a number of projects, events, and workshops and to ensure our staff and stakeholders have all the tools and materials they need.

Tell us something interesting about yourself?

Through my role as a Cub Scout Leader, I was privileged to spend the night ‘locked in’ on the HMS Belfast with 13 children and 3 other adults. The HMS Belfast was commissioned on the 5th of August 1939 and was part of the naval blockade against Germany in November 1939.  During her time in service, she took part in the battle of North Cape, supported the Normandy landings and the 1950-52 Korean War so to experience a snapshot of its history is a treasured memory.
