What is
Recognition of
Prior Learning (RPL)?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) helps people get formal recognition for the skills, knowledge and experience they already have – no matter where or how they gained them. This can include learning from work, volunteering, informal study, life experience, or previous education and training.
RPL can help people gain SCQF credit points towards future qualifications, avoid repeating learning they’ve already done, and open up new education or career opportunities.
Our RPL Guide gives tailored advice to individuals, RPL and employers. Try it today.
The SCQF Partnership provides guidance on RPL but does not assess individual claims. For RPL applications, please contact the relevant college, university or institution directly.
