This free* two and a half hour online interactive workshop via Zoom is designed for those with little or no knowledge of Recognition of Prior Learning.
The workshop will look at real life cases where RPL has been used and offer participants to opportunity to assess what an RPL submission should contain and review some practical examples to assess what evidence would be required to make a claim for RPL. By the end of the workshop you should have:
- increased your knowledge and awareness of RPL including credit transfer
- considered RPL processes and procedures and how they might work in practice
- improved your understanding of the processes used by institutions to recognise prior learning
- discussed the role of the RPL facilitator and some examples of good practice in supporting learners through the process
Workshop materials and pre-workshop activities
Participants will be sent an e-workbook with the workshop materials including a short exercise to gauge participants current use of RPL, a short introductory video about the SCQF Partnership and a Zoom user guide to ensure that delegates are confident in their ability to participate. These exercises should take no more than 30 minutes to complete. Completing these exercises in advance will allow the workshop to focus on practical exercises and activities.

A very useful session which explored some of the key issues around RPL with similar organisations, and how RPL can be applied in different scenarios using the SCQF as a vehicle.

A great bite-sized introduction to RPL, just what I needed to decide to take this forward further.
