We are celebrating 21 years of the SCQF with our online conference taking place on Thursday 24 March. The theme for the day is The SCQF at 21: Recognising Skills in a Changing Landscape.

We would really appreciate any support you can offer to help us promote our conference by sharing our posts on social media. We are also looking to compile a short video with 'Happy Birthday' messages from those of you who have used the framework over the past 21 years.

Share a 'Happy Birthday' Video Message

We are also looking to compile a short film of messages from learners, partners, sponsors, and colleagues who have used the framework.

In order to achieve this, we need you!

We don't want to take up too much of your time and you don't need to be extravagant. You can simply use a smart phone or tablet and we ask that you consider the following:

  • Introduce yourself, name, company/school/institution
  • How you have used the framework
  • How it has benefitted you/those you support
  • Your message for the future of the SCQF

Your video can be shot on iPhone, iPad or Android and saved as an Mp4. It should be no longer than 30 seconds in length.

Here are some tips to capture good film on a mobile device:

  1. Check your phone is set up for video correctly –if possible, film in 4K. Then check the frame rate is set at 30fps
  2. Clean the lens with a soft cloth
  3. If filming on your own: Use a tripod if you have one if not position your phone at a good height to capture your head and shoulders and remember to switch the lens to capture you and not what is in front of you.
  4. Choose an area with good or natural light.
  5. Orientation: Remember to film in landscape NOT portrait
  6. Don’t use digital zoom or you will end up with a pixelated movie.
  7. Use the exposure lock on iPhone – which helps to keep exposure constant throughout the film.
  8. Get the mic as close to you as possible or better still use an external/Bluetooth mic.
  9. Feel free to edit the film yourself or send it uncut and we will edit for you.

Please send us your video message by 28th February. Use a large file service to email your video to k.mckenna@scqf.org.uk. The following allow you to send up to 2GB free: https://wetransfer.com/  https://www.mailbigfile.com/
