Veterans to set their sights on recognition
A unique project to profile and recognise the skills of veterans will launch next month. The SCQF Partnership (SCQFP) will work with colleagues at Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to develop an online skills profiling tool specifically for service leavers, to support them in understanding the skills they have gained in the military.
British Army Infantry soldiers’ skills mapped to the SCQF
Infantry soldiers across the UK and those who settle in Scotland will be able to more easily match their military training qualifications to employers’ needs and study requirements in Scotland, thanks to a new resource launched by Veterans’ Minister Graeme Dey.
SCQF Partnership leading on Veterans Project
The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership is currently undertaking a project to map the qualifications of veterans to the SCQF. The project which is funded by the Scottish Funding Council was established in response to the report from the Veterans Commissioner on Employability, Skills and Learning of veterans, published in 2016.
